..and then welcome to our Official Starter's Guide for new and prospective members alike! In this informational thread, we'll provide you with all of the helpful information you might need in order to start your journey here in this curious 'hybrid' role-play as smoothly as possible. These include but aren't limited to helpful links, Clan descriptions and lore, the role-play's canon location and climate, and other tidbits that might prove useful to you in your role-play endeavors, in and out of character.


clan history, lore, and hierarchy.
In this role-play, we rest on the canonical event of SkyClan being purged from the forest after Twolegs destroyed their territory. However, in this universe, rather than disintegrate and fall into nothing, SkyClan remains steadfast and finds a home far from the forest after moons of searching for a reliable home.

It has been roughly five generations (give or take 25ish years?) since finding this new land, full of prey and plenty for every cat to explore and settle in.

SkyClan turned their backs on StarClan in the very same way that StarClan turned their backs on them in the forest, when they did absolutely nothing to protect them or help them when their home was being torn down. Since then, however, they have been unable to communicate with any of those who have passed away in this new land, old or new alike. This is worrying, as the Clan wishes to be faithful, but without an ancestor to look towards, their lives are at the stakes of their own paws.


Because SkyClan no longer shares StarClan's skies or light, leaders have chosen to since take on the suffix of "-sky" rather than "-star," since StarClan was so keen to let them be run out of the forest. Leaders having multiple lives has since become a kit's tale, and the leaders of today are considered just as mortal as their warriors. For example, Weaselfrost becomes Weaselsky, Sandheart becomes Sandsky.

SkyClan's warriors are split into two training classes: leafclaws and fernclaws. Leafclaws are the warriors who are trained to climb and hunt and fight high in the treetops, whereas fernclaws are the ground-hunters, masterful stalkers and excellent at maneuvering in even the sharpest of thickets. our writing story.
Currently, our plot rotates around the recent change in leadership in SkyClan! The old leader, the wise and unforgettably kind fernclaw Sunsky has passed away unexpectedly from Loner's Blight, a sickness brought on to SkyClan this past Leaf-bare by a group of hostile rogues. This leaves the recently appointed deputy, Fennelbranch, a leafclaw, to rise to power and receive his leader's title of Fennelsky.

However, with his rise to power, some things in SkyClan are going to begin to change, for better, or for worse. Depends on the cat you ask.

How will your character feel about Fennelsky's curious influence on SkyClan, and therefore, on you? And more importantly, what will your character do?

Step up and become involved in the overarching and smaller-scale plots in SkyClan, because, frankly, who knows, you could be the butterfly effect that causes something spectacular, or something catastrophic.



climate & geography.
The Sun Stays 'til Tomorrow takes place in Great Britain, where the Hunters hinted that the Clans could hypothetically live. SkyClan left the original forest, yes, but found a remote area on the eastern English coastline.

The weather and climate in Great Britain varies greatly from season to season. While the differences are not as extreme as in some countries, each season brings to the Clan its own vices and virtues. Leaf-fall brings frost and ice, Newleaf rain and wind, Greenleaf warmth but rains, and Leaf-fall, naturally, fallen leaves and cooling temperatures.

The TL;DR of this is that the general climate in their geographic location is fairly wet, and is often windy, regardless of the season.
