April Of the Month Winners!

APRIL OF THE MONTH WINNERS

Before anything else, I want to thank each and every one of you who's stuck around throughout the development of The Sun Stays 'til Tomorrow and engaged yourselves in and out of character. This and we wouldn't be here at all if you guys weren't so keen to get on with the show and get the ball rolling-- it's your story and yours alone to tell!

That being said, the results for April's OTM awards are in! And the winners are...

CHARACTER OTM: TAWNYMOTH

"What's your favourite memory?"
"Favorite memory? That's a bit... tough, my memory is a bit bad so forgive me for that, aha. I suppose if I had to chose, I'd say the one time I came to visit Hazelflower and hung out with him after he earned his full medicine cat rank. It was really nice to see him be happy over that."


"How do you feel about Sunsky passing away?"
"I suppose I felt a bit... sad. Admittedly, I didn't know him much in person, but everyone had a lot of respect for him and it wasn't hard to see why. He seemed so approachable and... patient, and it felt like nothing could truly harm SkyClan-- until we were proven wrong, that is. And now with Fennelsky in charge, I-- don't tell anyone this, but I felt undeniably unsettled with all these changes. I dunno."

Who's your favourite cat to share some prey with?
"Hazelflower, of-- of course! I want to say Brindlehawk, I really do-- but ah, sometimes she-- oh nevermind. Forget I said anything."

"What's the first thing you notice about another cat?"
"First thing I notice? I guess I watch how they hold themselves-- sometimes. Like if they look guarded or more open, you know? Some are like me, they'll be a bit hunched over and will tuck their tails in, and that lets me know whether or not they're letting their genuine feelings show."

"Where's your favourite hunting spot?"
"Favorite hunting spot? I dunno, by the river I guess? It tends to be more quiet there, not often visited because the others can be a bit... squeamish with getting their paws wet, ah? And the sounds of the water and frogs can be-- quite calming, too."

CHARACTER OTM: HAZELFLOWER

"What's your favourite memory?"
"Berryfur announcing me as SkyClan's medicine cat! I finally felt as if I truly belonged in the clan, like I had found my path. This memory is held dear in my heart."


"How do you feel about Sunsky passing away?"
"Oh, I surely feel upset, especially for his daughter, Laureldawn. Sunsky was a kind and fair leader and he will surely leave a hole in the Gully for a while. I do hope Fennelsky follows his pawprints."

"Who's your favourite cat to share some prey with?"
"My cousins, Tawnymoth and Brindlehawk! They're the one part of my family that stuck with me, and I particularly enjoy being around them."

"What's the first thing you notice about another cat?"
"Usually their body language. As a medicine cat, it is essential for me to be able to understand one's emotions and work around them. It surely makes treatment easier!"

"Where's your favourite herb-gathering spot?"
"The river and the sun birches. These two places alone gather such a broad variety of herbs! Most of my stash is found there. One would be surprised by how many plants grow there..."

CHARACTER OTM: WARTFUR

"What's your favourite memory?"
"Huh? I dunno, probably when I became an apprentice and didn't have to see my ma's face every day."


"How do you feel about Sunsky passing away?"
"..Saaaad...? That's the right answer, right? Is this a test? I mean, he never complained when I spent my time harassing people, so I guess he was chill..."

"Who's your favourite cat to share some prey with?"
"There's this really handsome fellow I know, I think he goes by some weird name, what was it? Wartypelt or something like that.."

"What's the first thing you notice about another cat?"
"Whether or not they're alone."

"Where's your favourite hunting spot?"
"I don't think I've been to that many actually, you all are just so kind with bringing back plenty for everyone else that I rarely have to step food out of this place. Hah! Did you hear this guy? Hunting!"

CHARACTER OTM: KITELEAF

"What's your favourite memory?"
“I’m fortunate to have lived a life full of such things that it is hard to choose. Certainly the graduation ceremonies of my apprentices are pleasant to look on, as a culmination of my hard work as well as theirs. It’s truly an honour to train the next generations of leafclaws. Of course, there’s always the more recent shock of my own promotion. To be honest, I’m still adjusting - I think we all are. While I certainly think I am deserving, I am incredibly humbled by the decision. My only wish is to serve SkyClan, and I’ve been given an opportunity to do so in ways that I never could before. I hope the Clan reciprocates my love for each and every one of them.”

"How do you feel about Sunsky passing away?"
“... It’s always devastating when a Clanmate passes. While I didn’t agree with certain decisions that he made, he was still of SkyClan, and was leader throughout my entire life. Of course I mourned.”

"Who's your favourite cat to share some prey with?"
“It would be a high pleasure to share tongues with any of my Clanmates. Oh, but you do want me to paw-pick a favourite, and in that case it’s Skipperclaw; my former apprentice. It brings me such joy to see the cat she’s blossomed into, and that she’s continued to grow and prosper after her training. She’s an outstanding leafclaw; definitely gives me a run for my fresh-kill with those pouncing abilities. I’m so incredibly proud of her every day. You know, I’ve never had children, nor did I ever intend to, but I hope Skipperclaw knows that I think of her as family. Or at least that she knows I love her.”

"What's the first thing you notice about another cat?"
“Their scent, silly! That’s the first thing anyone can detect!” [warm chuckle] “No, no, I know what you mean. I want to say their physique. I like to see that my compatriots are in tip-top shape and suited to their jobs! I also notice short cats very quickly - but I guess that’s to be expected. Is anyone taller than I?”

"Where's your favourite hunting spot?"
“The Skyway, of course! Specifically at the tops of trees. Ideally I don’t like there to be anything between the fur on my back and the sky above. I’m a denizen of SkyClan, after all!”

PAIR OTM: SAND & ROWANWING

SAND: "How long have you known one another?"
"I found Rowanwing when he was but a kit, lost in a Twoleg farm field. I was older, and took him along because I could scent rain on the wind, and he has never left me since.. of his own will, that is. It had to be four years ago now that we met."


SAND: "How would you describe your relationship?"
"I don't know what I would do without him. I've known him as long as I have known myself- and I can't begin to describe how grateful I was to see him here, in SkyClan. I always did speak of a place like this for us - something larger than wandering the Great Island and seeing the same sights, over and over again. There's something greater for us here."


SAND: "What's the funniest thing the other cat's ever done?"
"I once saw Rowanwing blunder nose-first into an old rabbit's warren in the roots of an oak. There had been moss covering it, and he had thought it was only roots beneath it. There was a particularly frazzled hare inside of it who began to pounce on him, or so his startled yelps let on. I helped him out, of course. After a little while."

ROWANWING: "How long have you known one another?"
"Well thorns, talk about nostalgia! Admittedly, I don't remember my younger suns without Sand being by my side. He found me, or maybe we found each other, my memory is albeit a little foggy, I could hardly walk at that point! But I'll never forget that look he gave me, thoughtful, I took to him instantly. It's probably been 4 years by now? Thistles, time went fast."

ROWANWING: "How would you describe your relationship?"
"Y'know I've never had an issue putting words together, but this is something that is a little hard to describe. Sand has always been there for me, he is all I've come to know over my five years of life. He's a consistency I can always rely on, who whispered of grandeur for us... and now we're here. Together. Just like he spoke of all those seasons ago. I've never experienced such a foreboding sense of despondency when we were apart... he is my companion, a brother. I don't know what I'd do without that old man by my side."


ROWANWING: "What's the funniest thing the other cat's ever done?"
"Funniest? You mean I can only name one, mighty! Well... there was this one time that sticks out the most. He attempted to converse with a rodent, a ferret to be precise, thistles knew where he picked up those theatrics- or whether the thing even understood him! Though... I'm eerily concerned it did, seeing it responded. I'll always remember Sand's chittering, and I'll make sure he remembers it to! If there was anytime I was inclined to believe I'd of punctured a lung, that would've been it! I ought' to ask him to learn mouse next, it might come in handy!"

ROLEPLAY OTM: BEEHEART + SAND

Taking place on the edges of the alder gully, an uncertain Sand approached an unsuspecting Beeheart, accidentally startling the introverted she-cat. He hastily apologized, saying he was compelled over because she looked thoughtful from far away, and offered her the vole he had brought her, becoming slightly embarrassed when she gingerly denied the offer.

Sand asked if Beeheart could help him fix his flawed fernclaw crouching technique, which she did, and practiced with him until Rowanwing was beckoning Sand over from across the opensky clearing. Sand left, a little hesitant to do so as he may have taken a liking to the quiet she-cat.
