The SkyClan Code

the SKYCLAN WARRIOR CODE

The Sun Stays 'til Tomorrow goes with the belief that the Warrior Code was developed as the Clans were, as seen in Code of the Clans. We've taken some liberty with what codes were in place at the time of SkyClan's removal from the old forest, and even added some codes that pertain specifically to this SkyClan AU - that is, codes added by SkyClan leaders from the coast territory. The "SkyClan Code," as they call it over the "warrior code" (but they can refer to it as this as well) is as follows. You'll notice that some codes are edited, since SkyClan doesn't have any neighboring Clans!

Defend your Clan, even with your life.

Elders, queens, sick or injured cats and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.

A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.

The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires, or is exiled.

The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.

Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats. 
    - a law from the old territory, still upheld in order to protect skyclan's borders from trespassing loners, rogues, and kittypets.

All warriors will become leafclaw or fernclaw. 
    - a law created by olivesky, the leader who finished the great journey with skyclan and lived among leafclaw and fernclaw themselves.

Every kit will follow the paths of their parents. A kit born from leafclaws will become a leafclaw and a kit born from fernclaws will become fernclaw.
    - a law proposed by fennelsky in order to reduce the rate of which kits who choose to go against their family's ranks have a higher chance of injury and even rate of death for their unfit body types





Medicine cats may not have a mate or kits, as they must be able to heal all cats equally.

Kits must stay in camp until they are apprenticed, and are not allowed to hunt.

It is discouraged for fernclaws and leafclaws to have kits together.
    - a rule while unspoken is widely known in present-day skyclan; it is rumored that these kits are often unhealthy, volatile, or even deformed. it's considered a taboo to most.

A cat may be challenged in the Sandfern Arena if another disagrees with them, or believes they are a danger to others.
    - a rule created by hawthornsky as a warrior, who challenged swallowsky's deputy when he thought she was unfit for a coming leadership position.
